Types of Shag Rugs For Sale

All Types Of Shag Rugs For Sale

Things to consider before buying a shag rug, here we have described the types of shag rugs. The shag rug is the perfect choice to decorate your living space.

Flokati Shag Rugs

Flokati Rugs are the type of handmade wool rug which traditionally made in Greece country. These decorative rugs are usually a white and cream color. But they can be dyed into multiple color schemes. They are 100% wool, including the ABC rug backing.

Flokati rugs are one of the fluffiest types of shag area rugs online. The decorative rugs are very much like a sheepdog because they dirty easily and quickly have to be cleaned and brushed often.

To maintain the soft, fluffy look of a Flokati rug, you should clean it on a regular basis-before it even gets dirty. If not, it will get messy, matted, and stained to the point where you’ll never clean it back into the original look of area rugs.

Wool Shag Rugs

There are two main types of wool shag rugs such are “noodles” and “shaggy”

The decorative rugs displayed above and below are “noodle” rugs. The thick wool fibers in the shape of noodles make an especially soft, luxurious rug. But the softness comes at a price. The soft fibers attract pretty much anything a feather duster can. Dirt, dust, hair, and any other particle that sticks is more than likely sitting in your noodle rug.

Another type of wool shag rug is the “shaggy” wool rug. In the shaggy rugs, the fibers are a lot thinner and closer together than the noodles (noodle rug).

The cheap shag rugs available at ABC rug are hand-knotted with 100% natural wool. These types of decorative rugs are significantly easier to clean than the fluffier versions above. Because the knots of the rug are very close together, that making it more difficult for dirt and dust to slip through the cracks.

This type of shag rug is easier to care for and durable, but it is sometimes more expensive than the traditional low pile rug. ABC rug carries many types of hand-tufted shag area rugs in a reasonably smaller size, which makes the price lower on this type of luxury shag rug. However, if you’re getting a large shag rug with high quality, the price quickly adds up.

Leather Shag Rugs

Personally, I don’t like the look of leather shag rugs online. They look like crumpled up paper masquerading as a rug:

As much as I personally don’t like them, these shag rugs are somewhat easier to clean than other area rugs. Because you can use leather cleaner on leather shag rugs. These designer rugs, however, can be pricey based on brand and quality of leather, and not pet-friendly… or in general, life-friendly.

You should place leather shag rug strategically so that it won’t be in a high-traffic area in your home. Place it where it won’t come in contact with liquids, foods, and pets. Mostly leather shag rugs are likely a wedding cake, you can look at it but don’t touch it or you’ll ruin it.

Is it worth it? That’s just up to you.

Acrylic Shag Rugs

These Acrylic shag rugs not only look cheaper than wool. These home decorators rugs are actually a danger to your home.

Because Acrylic rugs are highly flammable, so we don’t recommend putting them in living space at home.

Synthetic Shag Rugs

However synthetic shag rugs are not the best quality area rugs. But they can be somewhat easier to clean because unlike wool, they can handle a steam cleaner, at least a few times. They will still not last very long due to low-quality materials. So I don’t prefer these area rugs.
